Smart Water Systems: Sensiblue disinfection unit
When engineer Jan Tholen invented a highly compact water-disinfection system requiring no mains power, making it cheap and easy to install, WeLL Design was chosen to seek investment and marketing partners and to work with manufacturer Early Innovators to develop a version suitable for commercial production. The result, Sensiblue, is now being marketed by Smart Water Systems.
Turbines driven by the incoming water generate electricity to power an electrolytic cell, which in turn produces active chlorine. This is odourless, tasteless and totally safe, but also highly effective in destroying bacteria like legionella and preventing further contamination.
